Information About the Middletown Bible Church

The Middletown Bible Church is an independent, local, Bible-believing church which is completely dependent upon the Person, Work and Word of the Lord Jesus Christ. We are non-denominational but we seek to hold forth God's Word and to unashamedly lift up the Name of Christ Jesus for the glory of the living God. We desire that you might know Christ in a real and personal way (John 17:3). God has provided His LIFE (eternal life) for every man, woman, boy or girl who believes in the Person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

We are dedicated to the proclamation of God's Word which promises eternal life to each one who personally believes on the Lord Jesus Christ, God's only Saviour (John 3:16; 5:24). The Bible also provides practical answers for those willing to heed its precepts, practice its principles and claim its promises. May the living and only God help us for His Glory and Honor, and may it be your privilege to know His grace and goodness in these difficult and declining days.

Our position and practice is based upon the fundamental and foundational truths of God's Word, the Bible. This would include Christ's virgin birth, His substitutionary death, His triumphant resurrection and His promise to return again to this earth. This gives us solid and safe ground on which to stand and on which to build. In these difficult and declining days we need a firm foundation, even the living God and His Holy Word, the Bible (Matthew 7:24-27; 1 Corinthians 3:11).

It is our desire that in this church people will find...

  • God-centered, reverent services of worship where the Bible is believed, taught and preached.

  • An atmosphere in which the Bible is communicated in such a way as to supply the answers to the deepest questions of the soul.

  • A ministry which ever points to the all-sufficiency of the crucified and risen Saviour, who desires to bring peace, comfort and assurance to every seeking and troubled soul.

  • A deep and personal confrontation with God's Word (with emphasis on both the Old and New Testaments) so that you might be moved and motivated to consider the living God and your relationship to Him.

  • Stability in the middle of a world that is very unstable. Surely these are days when we need to know that which is right and real so that we might be able to stand upon solid ground, even upon God and His Word.

May you find a friendly congregation and those who truly desire God's very best for you and your entire family.

The kind of Church we desire to be...

It is our desire first and foremost to have a God-centered church. It is a great privilege to know the living God (John 17:3) and to make Him known to others.

Secondly, we desire to be a Christ-centered church: "that in all things HE [the Lord Jesus Christ] might have the preeminence [first place]" (Colossians 1:18). Therefore we preach Christ crucified, risen and coming again (1 Corinthians 11:26; 15:3-4).

Thirdly, we desire, with God's help, to have a Gospel-preaching church. We want to proclaim to all men the good news that "Christ came into the world to save sinners" (1 Timothy 1:15) and that He is living today (Mark 16:6), and He is able to save to the uttermost all those who come unto God through Him (Hebrews 7:25; John 14:6). He is the only Saviour for "there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved" apart from the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth whom God raised from the dead (Acts 4:10-12).

Fourthly, this church is a Bible-believing church and we encourage the people to bring their Bibles and to study their Bibles with a view towards believing and resting upon what God has said in His Word. The Lord is well-pleased when men and women, boys and girls simply take God at His Word and act upon what He has said (Hebrews 11:6).

Fifth, we are a Bible-preaching church, entrusted with the same charge that was given to Timothy: "Preach the Word" (2 Timothy 4:1-2). As we make known the unsearchable riches of Christ it is our obligation to present carefully and clearly what God is saying to us today through His inspired Word.

And finally, by the grace of God, we are a Bible-teaching church. As the Bible is rightly handled and accurately taught from Genesis to Revelation then God's people are able to learn God's truth and enjoy all that God has for them both now and for eternity.
