Object Lesson Theme: Growth Cell Phone Charger |
Last week we learned about the world’s best wireless connection. When we see people using cell phones we are reminded that we can call upon the Lord at any time no matter where we are. "The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth" (Psalm 145:18).
Most cell phones need to be charged. [Show cell phone and charging unit.]
If the cell phone loses its charge, then it will not work properly. It needs to be plugged in to the power source for a period of time in order to be charged. If it is not charged, it becomes unusable.
What about us spiritually? Every believer needs to be spiritually charged. We need to take time every day to be plugged into God’s power source. Power belongs to the Lord, and we need to spend some alone time with God each day.
Having a daily time when we can pray and plug into God’s Word is so important. The Word of God is living and powerful, and we need to get charged up with the truth. Then we can go out into the world and function as we should and be usable servants of the Lord. Just as you need food to have physical strength, so you need spiritual nourishment which comes by spending quality time with God and His Word.
Please remember to get plugged in each day. "Man shall not live by bread alone..." (Matt. 4:4).
